Indore Police Get Tech Upgrade With Fingerprint Devices, Body Cams, Binoculars

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Police Commissionerate received several modern technical devices from the Police Headquarters, Bhopal, as part of police modernisation.

The equipment will help police in crime investigation, scientific evidence collection, identification of criminals, field policing, surveillance and public safety.

Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh inspected the new equipment on Monday and took information from officials about its use and functioning.

The equipment includes one Fingerprint Optical Comparator, one Cyanoacrylate Fuming Chamber, 35 Fingerprint Enrollment Devices, 188 web cameras, 35 QR Code Printers, 60 body-worn cameras, 140 binoculars and sound level meters.

The fingerprint-related equipment will help police collect, examine and analyse fingerprints found at crime scenes. Body-worn cameras will improve transparency and accountability during field duties and police operations.

Web cameras and QR Code Printers will support technology-based and administrative work, while binoculars will be used for surveillance and security duties.

Sound level meters will help officials measure noise levels and check compliance with prescribed standards.

The Police Commissioner directed officers and staff to understand the equipment properly and ensure its planned and responsible use.

He said modern technology would make crime investigation more scientific, accurate and effective and would also strengthen field policing and law-and-order work.

The equipment is being provided to the concerned units and officers as required. Police officials said the move aims to provide better, faster, more transparent and more effective services to citizens.
