Mhow (Madhya Pradesh): A honey trap case was registered at Bargonda police station against two women and a man, police said on Thursday.

According to police, a 41-year-old retired army jawan from Mhow was allegedly lured into a trap by a woman who had been in contact with him over the phone.

She reportedly called him to a room at a resort, where she, along with another woman and a man, accused him of rape and demanded Rs 2 lakh.

The police arrested all three accused.

Bargonda Police Station in-charge Prakash Vaskle said the prime accused, identified as Bhavna, had been in regular contact with the victim, Deepak Jagat Singh Rawat, who previously served in the Defence Security Corps (DSC), Pathankot.

She allegedly called him to Rainbow Resort, where the other accused joined her and attempted to extort money by levelling false allegations.

As per the complaint, shortly after Rawat entered the room, there was a knock on the door. When opened, another woman and a man entered and accused him of raping their “sister.” Bhavna also alleged misconduct on his part.

Suspicious of the situation, the resort owner alerted the police. A team reached the spot and brought all four individuals to the police station.

After verifying Rawat’s statement, police registered a case against Bhavna, Sadhana and Vijay under relevant sections 308(6) and 61(2) of the BNS. The three accused have been taken into custody.
