Indore: International Flights Likely To Operate From Old Terminal Starting May
Decision taken in Airport Advisory Committee meeting. Currently, the renovation work of the old terminal building is underway.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): From May this year, international flights as well flights by ATR aircraft will be operated from the old terminal building instead of the current terminal building of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport. The old terminal, which is being renovated, is likely to be ready by May this year.
The airport administration will soon start the work of fencing 20 acres of land located beneath Bijasan hill, purchased from the district administration. This decision was taken in a meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee held at the airport on Friday.
MP Shankar Lalwani presided over the meeting. Later, MP Lalwani informed that the renovation of the old terminal building was underway and would be completed by May.
Subsequently, the operation of international flights and ATR aircraft would be carried out from there. About the set-up of the ceremonial lounge, airport director Vipin Kant Seth informed that the file had been sent to the Airport Authority of India (AAI) headquarters and assured that action would be taken in this regard.
About the deployment of additional Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the old terminal, Seth said that the approval had been received from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) in this regard and an appropriate number of CISF personnel would be appointed by the ministry of human resource development.
MP Lalwani directed the airport management and police to work jointly to control parking of taxis and auto rickshaws outside the terminal building. He directed collector Asheesh Singh to coordinate with the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) for the construction of a road near Kendriya School so that the airport administration could start the work of multi- level car parking on 20 acres of land.
He also directed to introduce the smart trolley at the airport, which displayed the status of flight, boarding gate and route. Airport director Seth assured that the re-carpeting work of the runway would be completed within the time limit.
