Indore District Court Gives Anwar Qadri One Month To Surrender

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Indore District Court has given Congress corporator Anwar Qadri one month to appear before it in connection with serious allegations of funding a so-called "Love Jihad" network. The court issued this directive on August 5 during a hearing in which Qadri's daughter, Ayesha, was presented after her police remand ended.

Ayesha Qadri’s custody has been extended by another six days. If Anwar Qadri fails to appear within the court-stipulated period, authorities may begin proceedings to seize his property.

Qadri still absconding, police offer reward

According to additional DCP (Crime Branch) Rajesh Dandotiya, a reward of ₹20,000 has been announced for any information leading to Qadri’s arrest. A lookout notice has also been issued. Despite remaining on the run, Anwar Qadri has not yet been officially declared a proclaimed offender.

Ayesha was preparing anticipatory bail for her father

Sources have revealed that Ayesha was in Delhi, preparing legal documents for her father's anticipatory bail plea in the Supreme Court. The documents allegedly carried Qadri’s signature.

Police acted on a tip-off suggesting Anwar Qadri was with his daughter in Delhi. A team raided the location, where Ayesha was arrested, but Anwar reportedly managed to escape.

Accused allege Qadri funded grooming, forced conversions

The investigation has taken a grim turn. Two earlier-arrested suspects—Sahil Shaikh and Altaf—have reportedly confessed that Anwar Qadri funded a network aimed at trapping women from other communities into relationships and pressuring them into religious conversion through marriage.

According to the FIR, the two accused shared that they used fake social media identities like "Arjun" and "Raj" to befriend and lure women. Once emotionally involved, the women were allegedly pressured to marry and convert.

Sahil and Altaf further alleged that Qadri offered ₹1 lakh for each girl trapped and ₹2 lakh after the marriage (nikah) was completed. Police believe this may be part of a larger, organised network, and further investigation is underway to identify additional suspects.
