Indore: Crime Branch Intensifies Crackdown On Drug & Weapon Suppliers; 42 Arrested So Far
Different teams of the crime branch have been constituted for investigation and to arrest the drug peddlers/suppliers in the city.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): DCP (crime) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi called a meeting of various crime branch teams engaged in the investigation to keep an eye on the drug and weapon suppliers and instructed them to increase the checking drives to catch such elements in order to control drugs activities in the city.
Different teams of the crime branch have been constituted for investigation and to arrest the drug peddlers/suppliers in the city. DCP instructed them to also gather information about other people involved in drugs and weapon supply from the accused arrested in the past. Their sources of drugs should also be ascertained from them, he said.
During the year, different teams were deployed at different localities to gather information about drugs or weapon suppliers coming from outside the city. The teams also arrested 42 accused in 22 cases registered by the crime branch this year. In four cases of brown sugar, six people were arrested by the crime branch with 342 grams of brown sugar while 23 accused were arrested with 438 grams of MD drugs in 14 cases registered against them.
Two accused were arrested with over 26 kilograms of cannabis, five people were arrested with 5640 codeine bottles and 6 people were arrested with 9.34 lakh alprazolam tablets in two cases from January till the date this year.
