Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A fresh case for embezzlement of multiple cars by mortgaging it, was registered at Bhanwarkuan police station against a man, Hanif Pathan, who was recently arrested by Pardeshipura police for cheating people by taking cars on rent through the Zoom app and mortgage them.
Pardeshipura police had recovered 10 abandoned car from possession of the accused. According to the police, Saurabh Gurjar, a resident of Sarwanand Nagar, Bholaram Ustad Marg lodged a complaint stating that he operates a car rental business and had provided multiple vehicles to Hanif on rent.

Hanif reportedly took eight cars of his and his friend on a rental agreement of Rs 1,500 per day, but neither paid the rental amount nor returned the vehicles.
As per the complaint, Hanif rented these cars at different times and later became untraceable. Hanif stopped responding to calls and failed to return the vehicles. Hanif allegedly mortgaged these vehicles to scrap dealers and others in the Rajgarh-Biaora area without the owners’ knowledge.
