Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police booked 328 people for driving vehicles under the influence of liquor during the special drive of the police in the city late on Saturday. They were booked under section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act for the same. Police officials took action against 734 antisocial elements/criminals during the drive.
On the instruction of Commissioner of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, the DCPs of all zones including DCP (traffic) to take action against antisocial elements to curb the crime. The teams were deployed at various roads/circles in the city till Sunday morning.
Some teams checked the sensitive and dense areas and acted against a dozen criminals. Action against 734 was taken under the relevant sections for their involvement in criminal activities in the city.

During the drive, 12 cases were made against the people for consuming liquor at public places. The people, who were booked for serious crimes were also warned not to commit crime otherwise the police would take strict action against them. A total of 286 warrants including permanent and arrest warrants were executed by the police in the city.
The police teams checked 167 goons, 62 theft accused, 35 robbery accused, 60 stabbing accused, 23 drug peddlers, 123 other people involved in other criminal cases and 20 externed accused were checked.
