Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a remarkable initiative to give back to their roots, alumni of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), an entity of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, have come together with a mission to uplift their alma mater’s infrastructure and facilities.
The IET Alumni Association has announced a plan to raise Rs 5 crore for the comprehensive development of the institute.
As a part of the first phase, a state-of-the-art testing laboratory for the Civil Engineering Department has been established. The lab will be formally inaugurated by higher education minister Inder Singh Parmar on Saturday.
The lab is expected to significantly enhance learning and hands-on training opportunities for students. In addition to academic benefits, it will also serve as a consultancy unit for external civil engineering projects, adding a new revenue and research avenue for the department.
Encouraged by this progress, the alumni association has announced plans to set up similar advanced testing labs for other departments in the near future.
Despite limited time, the lab's basic structure was completed within a week, thanks to tireless efforts and around-the-clock work. This marks the beginning of a larger transformation driven by the passion and dedication of IET’s alumni network.
Alumni association office bearer Pritesh Mahajan said that alumni of IET are enthusiastically coming forward to reconnect with their alma mater and help it not only financially but also in other ways.
IET Director Pratosh Bansal said, “The alumni association has assured of pumping in a total of Rs 5 crore for upgrading infrastructure and facilities at the IET. With the help of our alumni, we will go from strength to strength in infrastructure and industry-academia fronts,”
