Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Taking note of the irregularities in the distribution of excess fertilizers by agencies through 1250 Point of Sale (PoS) system in Madhya Pradesh, the agriculture department has written collectors for verification of excess sale of fertilizers in districts.
Excess fertilizers have been distributed by 1,250 agencies through Point of Sale (PoS) systems in Madhya Pradesh. In some districts, the sale of fertilizers has reportedly exceeded the allotted quantities by up to 1,459 per cent.
The agriculture department has written to district collectors, seeking verification of fertilizer distribution data. In Guna, the district Markfed recorded an excess distribution of 1,459 per cent.
In Jabalpur’s Shahpura area, the Madhya Pradesh State Co-operative Marketing Federation (MP Markfed) reported 1,291 per cent excess distribution. Similarly, Khirkiya Markfed showed 1,284 per cent excess distribution.
In Ashok Nagar, Markfed shows excess distribution up to 448 % fertilizers while in Guna, Markfed’s shows 212% excess distribution of fertilizers. Similarly, Sheopurkalan Markfed’s shows 175 per cent excess distribution.
In Ashok Nagar, Piprai (AN) Markfed sold 138% excess fertilizers 138 % excess fertilizers. Harda’s Markfed sold 262 per cent excess sale. Satna markfed sold 271 per cent excess fertilizers.

Farmer Kedar Sirohi said, “This excess distribution of fertilizers has led to a shortage in many areas in the state. The state government acted after the Centre instructed verification. A circular has been issued to collectors to carry out the checks. These fertilizers were distributed through the PoS system. ”Joint Director of Agriculture, Rewa Singh Sisodia, told Free Press, “We will examine the reports of excess fertilizer distribution.”
