Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City Congress workers staged protests at 24 places on Thursday against rising inflation. The protests were held at the same time under the leadership of block presidents and assembly constituency in-charges. At some places, the Congress workers symbolically gave loans to people to buy sugar, while at others they opened tea stalls.
City Congress president Chintu Choukse said the negligence of the Central and state governments had made life difficult for the common people. He said the prices of sugar, cooking gas, electricity and other essential items had increased sharply.
Choukse said sugar prices had risen so much that people may soon have to take loans to buy it. He also raised concerns about rising prices of LPG cylinders and electricity.
