Complete Cataract Surgeries For Waiting Patients By Feb In Indore
Divisional commissioner reviews health services of Indore division

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh has directed all districts in the Indore Division to complete cataract surgeries for waiting patients and distribute glasses by the end of February.
He emphasized organizing eye camps and collaborating with Indore's ophthalmology hospitals to support the blindness prevention program.
In a review meeting with chief medical and health officers from districts including Alirajpur, Burhanpur, Barwani, Dhar, Jhabua, Khandwa, Khargone, and Indore, Singh assessed the progress of key health initiatives. He instructed officials to enhance efforts in programs like the National Tuberculosis Control Program, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and child vaccination drives.
The Commissioner expressed concern about underperformance in several districts. While Indore and Jhabua showed better progress in the blindness prevention program, other districts were asked to intensify their efforts to meet targets. In the tuberculosis control program, districts like Burhanpur and Barwani are lagging in meeting testing targets. While treatment success rates average 92 per cent across the division, Khandwa and Jhabua remain below par.
The Commissioner also highlighted pending payments under the JananiSurakshaYojana in districts such as Dhar, Khandwa, and Barwani, instructing officials to resolve these issues promptly. Indore district leads in child vaccination, achieving 100 per cent of its target, but other districts were urged to accelerate progress.
