Alot (Madhya Pradesh): Students of Vikramgarh High School in Madhya Pradesh's Alot had to return without getting their mid-day meal after participating in the Independence Day rally.
Students waived the tricolour flags in their hands and raised patriotic slogans in the morning during rally. However, when they returned to school, they were not provided their mid-day meal by 11:30 am.
The self-help group, was assigned to provide the meal by 10 am, however, after an hour and a half delay in mid-day meal arrival caused most of the children to go home without getting food.
The negligence not only left the children hungry and disappointed but also raised concerns about the accountability of officials and contractor. This is not the first instance where the mid-day meal did not reached children on time and yet the overlook continues.
Locals are now demanding that an FIR should be filed against those responsible. The incident violets the National Food Security Act, 2013, and the Mid-Day Meal Rules, 2015.
Additionally, it infringes children's rights under the Juvenile Justice (Child Protection) Act, 2015. They urged responsible authorities to take appropriate action to ensure such negligence does not happen again.
