Barwah: 11 pilgrims, including women and children injured in road mishap on Indore–Icchapur state highway

The accident took place on Indore – Icchapur state highway, about seven kilometers away from Barwah tehsil on Monday afternoon.

Barwah (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 11 pilgrims, including women and children, were injured in a head-on-collision of the car in which they were traveling with a rashly driven bus moving from Barwah to Indore.

The accident took place on Indore – Icchapur state highway, about seven kilometers away from Barwah tehsil on Monday afternoon.

According to information, pilgrims who are from Mhow were heading towards Omkareshwar in a Maruti Eco car, when the rashly driven passenger bus jumped off its lane and crashed into the car. All the injured persons were taken to the Barwah civil hospital. Two of them, including drivers Durgesh Khannare and Laltidevi, have been referred to Indore in critical condition.

The people present on the spot managed to break the gate and somehow pulled out the driver. The woman was pulled out of the vehicle by breaking the back seat and was sent to the Civil Hospital in Badwah.

Eyewitness Shravan Dangi said that the car was going from Indore to Barwah while the bus was going from Barwah to Indore. At the turn near Manohar, the speeding bus driver rammed the car.

The injured Aditya sitting in the car said that on Monday morning, they left for Omkareshwar from Mhow. Our vehicle was at normal speed. They saw a bus jump off its lane in an attempt to save a tempo full of kids and crashed into the car.
