Gulfam Singh Yadav: BJP Leader, Who Contested Against Mulayam Singh Yadav In 2004, Allegedly Poisoned To Death In Sambhal

Sambhal: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was allegedly killed in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal on Monday after three unidentified men allegedly injected him with a poisonous substance. The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Gulfam Singh Yadav. The incident took place under Junawai police station limits when Yadav was sitting at his farm in Daftara village.
The incident reportedly took place at 1 pm when the BJP leader was sitting on his coyt when the three men arrived on the pretext of meeting him. One of the three accused reportedly injected poison into Yadav's stomach. They fled from the spot after injecting him with alleged poison. The BJP's leader's health started deteriorating.
"Gulfam Singh Yadav (60) was sitting at his farm in Daftara village under Junawai police station limits when three men arrived on a motorcycle and injected him with a substance before fleeing," Circle Officer (Gunnaur) Deepak Tiwari said as reported by PTI. Yadav was taken to a hospital in Aligarh for treatment, but he died on the way.
The motive behind Yadav's killing is not yet known. The police have started an investigation into the matter. Cops are scanning footage of CCTVs installed in the area to identify the accused.

Yadav was associated with the BJP. He was active in politics for over three decades. In 2004, he had contested He had also contested the Gunnaur Assembly bypoll on a BJP ticket against late Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. Gulfam Singh Yadav also held key positions in the BJP.erved as a member of the Backward Classes Commission. He also reportedly held the post of BJP's State Executive Member.
