Kolkata: In keeping with the current covid situation in the state, the state government withdrew the night curfew from Thursday. In a notice floated by the Chief Secretary the people of the state are however asked to continue wearing masks and using sanitizers.
“Restrictions currently in force are hereby withdrawn. Advisory in respect of health & hygiene protocols including wearing of masks at all times, hand hygiene & sanitisation of public places shall continue to be strictly observed until further orders,” read the part of the letter.
It can be noted that apart from wearing masks and using sanitizers, the entire state had night curfew from 12 am to 5 am which is now lifted until further order by the state government.
Doctor Diptendu Sarkar welcoming the move said that people should be ‘cautious’.
“The current positivity rate in the entire country is less. In Bengal also the positivity is less and constantly for the last couple of weeks the death stands nil. SO the state government’s decision is really good. But since all international flights are open and anyone can travel there are chances that people might get infected and so wearing a mask is the best option,” said Sarkar.
The letter by the Chief Secretary also mentioned that all offices should be provisioning COVID 19 safety measures.
