VIDEO: 6 Devotees Killed & Several Injured In Road Accident Near Varanasi

Varanasi: Six people lost their lives, and five others were seriously injured when a jeep carrying devotees to Prayagraj crashed into a parked truck on GT Road near Mirzamurad on Friday, February 21, as per the news agency PTI.

Mirzamurad SHO Ajay Raj Verma stated that the victims were from Karnataka. The impact was so severe that the front of the vehicle was completely crushed, making it difficult for police to rescue those trapped.

The injured were taken to the trauma centre at Banaras Hindu University Hospital for treatment.

Verma told PTI that the impact severely damaged the vehicle's front, making rescue efforts challenging. The injured were admitted to Banaras Hindu University Hospital's trauma centre, while the deceased were sent for postmortem. Karnataka police have been notified.
