Uttar Pradesh News: Varanasi Emerges As Industrial Hub With 48 Projects Worth ₹1,180 Crore; 3,472 Jobs Created, 12,000 More Expected

Varanasi: Varanasi has emerged as a significant industrial centre in eastern Uttar Pradesh, with 48 industrial projects now operational in the district. These ventures, involving a cumulative investment of Rs 1,180.95 crore, have created 3,472 jobs, according to local industrial authorities.

Vinod Verma, Assistant Commissioner at the District Industry Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Center, stated that an additional 48 projects worth Rs 5,702.18 crore are in the pipeline and are expected to create over 12,000 more jobs.

Companies that have begun operations include Saaswad Heat Transfer and Engineering Private Limited and Hilton’s DoubleTree Hotel franchise. Logistics infrastructure has expanded with the inauguration of a Flipkart-linked warehouse by OWM Logistics, and a separate Amazon-affiliated facility operated by Madhavan LLP is already functional.

Projects under construction include Tata Group’s Ginger Hotel in collaboration with Banaras Beads, and Campa Cola's bottling unit under BD Foods and Beverages Private Limited.

The industrial developments span multiple sectors such as handloom, tourism, hospitality, IT, wellness, and education. Roma Entertainment City and Arvind Limited’s upcoming export unit for garments and domestic products are among the ventures nearing launch.

These developments form part of investment commitments made during the Global Investors Summit and are being executed in phased rollouts. Some units are already running, while others are expected to commence shortly.
