Prayagraj: The Harihar Ganga Aarti Samiti announced plans for its annual Ganga festival in Prayagraj, running from May 27 to June 6. Now in its 25th year, the event will feature daily riverside programs emphasizing environmental protection of the Ganges.
Organizers stated the festival aims to promote ecological awareness through cultural activities. Each evening at 6 PM, community gatherings will be held along the ghats. The schedule includes musical performances on June 1-2 and a poetry recital on June 3 featuring regional artists. A highlight will be the recognition of 50 individuals for their work in water conservation and community service.
"This is about bringing people together around river stewardship," said event coordinator Awadhesh Chandra Gupta. The festival will conclude with a community meal on June 5 and closing ceremonies on June 6. Municipal officials confirmed coordination with local authorities for crowd management and waste disposal during the events.
