Bangarmau: A pregnant woman, identified as Anjali Verma, lost her life at the Uttar Pradesh's Bangarmau Community Health Center on Monday, march 24. The deceased's family members have accused the hospital staff of negligence and physical assault, alleging that timely medical intervention could have saved her life.
Family Accuses Hospital Staff of Assault
According to Verma's family, she was admitted to the hospital for delivery but received improper medical attention. They also claimed that when she experienced severe labour pain, the attending doctor and nurse not only ignored her distress but also physically assaulted her. "The medical staff grabbed her by the hair and beat her when she complained of pain," alleged a family member.
"When they don’t have credible doctors and a proper staff, then why are they running a hospital? They left cotton and bandages in her stomach, leaving her to die," another family member added.
As her condition worsened, doctors decided to refer her to a hospital in Lucknow. However, she passed away while being transported. Her family further added that had she received timely and proper treatment at Bangarmau CHC, she could have been saved.
Reacting to the incident, the Unnao Police also took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a statement. They said, "The Inspector in-charge of Bangarmau police station was directed to investigate the case and take necessary legal action."
