Chaos erupted on Monday at Ghaziabad's new fruit and vegetable market in Sahibabad when some outsiders suddenly opened fire during a meeting called by the market secretary. As soon as the shooting started, commotion broke out at the scene. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media showing a man wearing a white kurta firing at people with a pistol. Meanwhile, his alleged supporters can be seen vandalising and attacking people with chairs.
In the video, some people can later be seen chasing the shooter. Police reported that one person was shot in the firing, while two others were seriously injured in the clash. The police promptly rushed to the spot after receiving information and launched an investigation into the matter. Traders in the market created a commotion right in front of the police.
According to reports, at the time of the incident, a large number of market committee members, fruit vendors, and administrative officers were present in the market premises. As soon as the firing started, a stampede-like situation developed in the market.

Additional Police Commissioner Alok Priyadarshi said, "We have received information about the firing. Police force has been sent to the spot. It has not yet been determined what dispute led to the shooting."
