Udaipur heading: Two arrested in Uttar Pradesh for supporting killing

On the information given by the villagers, police arrested both on the charges of hurting religious sentiments and doing unlawful activity

Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh police has arrested two persons who were celebrating and bursting crackers in favour of gruesome killing at Udaipur. The incident occurred in Mainaputti village under Sarupur police station of Meerut, UP, where father son duo were found expressing happiness over the killing of a tailor in Udaipur and found bursting crackers. On the information given by the villagers, police arrested both on the charges of hurting religious sentiments and doing unlawful activity.

According to the superintendent of police (Rural), Meerut, Keshav Kumar the villagers informed that fire crackers were busted by one Manzoor and son Shahzad in Mainaputti village in celebration of Udaipur killing. The local villagers gave the information on Dial 112. Soon after getting this information, police reached the village and found firecrackers in possession with the father son duo. After conducting search of the house of the accused police arrested both and took them to police station. Police officials informed that a case has been registered and the accused have been sent to jail.

Meanwhile the Additional Director General (ADG), Law & Order in UP, Prashant Kumar said that taking out any procession regarding Udaipur incident has been prohibited in the state. He said that if someone wants to give any memorandum, it could be handed over to the officials but any kind of procession whether in favour or opposition is not allowed. Kumar said that administration is keeping an eye on the activities on social media and anyone found posting anti-social messages would be dealt severely.
