Kolkata: A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to West Bengal’s Alipurduar on Thursday, Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Wednesday had slammed Modi for allegedly taking credit for ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Incidentally, this is the first visit of Modi in Bengal after ‘Operation Sindoor’. After administrative work, he is scheduled to hold a public rally at Alipurduar Parade Ground.
TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said that the speeches of the Prime Minister look like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had fought ‘Operation Sindoor’ and not the army.
“The Prime Minister should thank the army whenever he is speaking about the operation. Instead through his speeches it seems that he and his party had taken part in the operation. TMC from the very beginning was with the decision of the central government,” said Dastidar.

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose stated that the Prime Minister is doing ‘drama’ while speaking about ‘Operation Sindoor’.
“He should call for a special session in the Parliament to discuss what exactly happened during the operation, but instead he is doing drama,” added Ghose.
TMC minister Udayan Guha without naming anyone mentioned that ‘someone is selling hot sindoor’.
“The one who used to sell tea before is now selling hot sindoor,” claimed Guha.
Countering the claims of TMC, BJP MP Manoj Tigga stated that people like Guha should not be allowed to stay in a ‘civilized society’.
“People of Alipurduar are happy. Apart from hospitals, we have demanded a modern stadium in Alipurduar from the Prime Minister. We are expecting more people for the public rally of the Prime Minister,” added Tigaa.
Meanwhile, a team of sacked teachers had also reached Alipurduar hoping to meet the Prime Minister to find a solution to get reinstated in their jobs.
