Rajasthan News: Over 100 mm Rainfall Triggers Flood-Like Situation In Kota & Chittorgarh

Heavy rains above 100 mm have lashed many parts of Rajasthan during the last 24 hours. There are flood like situations in some parts of Kota division and Chittorgarh.

Above 100 mm of rain was received at around 20 stations in the state, including Khanpur of Jhalawar where 199 mm of rain was received during the last 24 hours.
Intermittent rain in Rawatbhata town of Chittorgarh district since Tuesday night overflowed the Gunjali river and more than half a dozen villages have lost contact. Around 34 thousand cusecs of water drained by opening 2 gates of Jawahar Sagar Dam in Chittorgarh.
While flood situation occurred in Modak town of Kota with water logging in houses, schools, hospitals, ATMs, and temples. Five out of 19 gates of Kota Barrage were opened due to heavy water flow.
Due to heavy rains, the water level of many rivers of the state has increased. Tonk and Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur have also received light rain. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in the entire state for the next three days.
