Rajasthan News: 3 Tigers Translocated From Ranthambore After Suspected Attacks

Jaipur: Three tigers have been trans-located from Ranthambore to nearby different tiger reserves. All were fully grown cubs of tigress T-84 Arrowhead and were suspected of three recent attacks in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.
DFO Ramanand Bhakar said that Arrowhead's female cub RBT-2507 popularly known as Kanakati was tranquilized from the Naka Bhid enclosure of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and was sent to Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve, Kota on Thursday.
Kanakati is suspected to killing 2 people in recent attacks and sent in the enclosure at Bhid Naka. Earlier, RBT 2508 and RBT 2509, who are siblings of Kankati were shifted to Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve, Bundi and Kailadevi Wildlife Sanctuary.
The officials said that the shiftings have taken place after the recent tiger attacks in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. The Chief Wildlife Warden had formed a committee to look into these attacks. As per the recommendation of the committee and the permission of the National Tiger Authority and the Ministry of Forest and Environment, these three tigers have been shifted to nearby forest reserves.

Arrowhead passes away
Meanwhile, the tigress T-84 Arrowhead, mother of shifted tigers, passed away on Thursday. Her body was found near the Jogi Mahal in the core zone of the reserve on Thursday morning.
The 12-year-old granddaughter of the iconic tigress, Machhali (T-16), was struggling with a painful stage of bone tumor for quite some time.
