Rajasthan: Drug Smuggler Dies In Road Accident Hours After Police Seize His Illegal Property Worth ₹2 Crore In Barmer
Virdharam had 10 cases registered against him across various police stations, including Sadar Kotwali and Baytu. He was recently arrested but was out on bail at the time of the accident.

A history-sheeter from Rajasthan's Barmer died in a road accident just 19 hours after police seized his property worth ₹2 crore. The accident occurred around 7 AM near Bilhaur on the Kanpur Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, leaving two of his friends injured.
The deceased, Virdharam Siyol, had his luxurious house in Galaberi village seized by Barmer police on Monday at noon. The police had also written to the concerned RTO to blacklist his Creta car and three buses.
According to Galaberi Sarpanch Achalaram, Virdharam and his friends Virendra Godara and Chunaram had left Barmer for Gaya on Monday. Their car collided with a trailer on the Kanpur Expressway the following morning, resulting in Virdharam's death. His companions are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
ASP Jasaram Bose stated that Virdharam was a history-sheeter at Barmer Sadar police station. The property seizure was carried out under Section 68F(2) of the NDPS Act for illegally acquired assets. This was the first such action in the district, with authorities planning similar measures against other criminals.
CI Satyaprakash Vishnoi revealed that Virdharam had established VR Siyol Construction Company in his wife's name. After investigation, police found he had illegally acquired property worth ₹2 crore. The case details were sent to competent authorities in New Delhi under the NDPS Act.
According to reports, Virdharam had 10 cases registered against him across various police stations, including Sadar Kotwali and Baytu. He was recently arrested but was out on bail at the time of the accident.
Ironically, while Virdharam was known to travel in a Volvo, considered one of the world's safest cars, he met with a fatal accident while traveling in a Swift, regarded as one of the less safe vehicles.
On Wednesday, thousands gathered for Virdharam's funeral procession, with videos of the event going viral on social media.
The sudden death of Virdharam following the raid at his residence is viewed with suspicion by many.
