Rajasthan: 89 Pakistani Pilgrims Reach Ajmer Sharif To Offer 'Chadar' On Behalf Of Pakistan Govt
The group of Pakistani pilgrims had entered the Indian from Wagah Border (Amritsar, Punjab) on Monday and reached Ajmer by a special train at 2:56 am on Tuesday. Two officials of Pakistan Embassy are also there with the group.

Jaipur: A group of 89 pilgrims from Pakistan reached Ajmer to offer Chadar on behalf of the Government of Pakistan in 813th Urs of Khwaja Saheb on Tuesday. Pakistani pilgrims have come with special gifts including sweets and flowers to offer to Ajmer Sharif.
The group of Pakistani pilgrims had entered the Indian from Wagah Border (Amritsar, Punjab) on Monday and reached Ajmer by a special train at 2:56 am on Tuesday. Two officials of Pakistan Embassy are also there with the group.
Some pilgrims raised their hands in prayer and expressed their gratitude for reaching the city of Khwaja when the group landed at Ajmer railway station. A member sang the song 'Mere Khwaja Piya, Dar Par Bulva Liya'.
Ajmer GRP CO Ram Avtar said that a group of Pakistani pilgrims has reached Ajmer. There are 91 pilgrims, including 2 officers in the group. Amidst tight security at the station, all were received and sent to Central Girls School (Ajmer) where arrangements have been made for their stay. Special bogies were allotted to Pakistani pilgrims where other passengers were not allowed.
The security arrangements have been beefed up in Ajmer looking at the visit of Pakistani nationals. The police and intelligence agencies are on high alert.
Pakistani pilgrims coming for Urs have been given visa only for Ajmer city. They are not allowed to go out of the city. Indian intelligence agencies and police keep a close watch on them. After Ziyarat, these pilgrims also do a lot of shopping in the markets of Ajmer.
The district administration, with the consent of Pakistani pilgrims, fixes a date for presenting the Chadar of Pakistan government. On that date, these pilgrims reach the Dargah in a procession and perform the ritual of presenting the Chadar while dancing and singing.
This year the Chadar from Pakistan is expected to be presented on Wednesday as the group is scheduled to return from Ajmer on January 10th. Notably, Pilgrims from Pakistan have been coming to Ajmer for the past 50 years to participate in the Urs of Khwaja Garib Nawaz.
