Punjab: Drug Smuggler Linked To Cross-Border Network Held With 18.2 Kg Heroin
Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested accused drug smuggler has been identified as Hira Singh, a resident of village Khaira in Amritsar. Police has also impounded his motorcycle which he was riding.

Chandigarh: Punjab police on Friday claimed to have apprehended a key drug trafficker and recovered 18.2 kg heroin from his possession.
Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested accused drug smuggler has been identified as Hira Singh, a resident of village Khaira in Amritsar. Police has also impounded his motorcycle which he was riding.
DGP Yadav said that preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused and his associate, identified as Kulwinder Singh alias Kinda of village Dauke in Amritsar, were in touch with Pakistan-based drug trafficker identified as Billa. The latter has been using drones to drop the large consignments of heroin from across the border for the past one year, he said.
The DGP said that raids are being conducted to nab accused Kulwinder Singh.
ADGP, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Border Range, Amritsar, Nilabh Kishore said that police teams had received input that accused Hira and Kulwinder are notorious drug smugglers and had been receiving heroin consignments via drones from a Pak-based drug smugglers for the past year.
Acting swiftly, police teams nabbed Hira when he was leaving his house on a motorcycle to deliver the heroin consignment.
