A low-intensity suspected blast was reported outside the BJP office in Chandigarh on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from security and investigative agencies.

According to initial reports, the explosion took place in the parking zone outside the BJP office. While the intensity was low, several vehicles parked nearby sustained damage.

No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

In a fresh development, a viral video circulating on social media allegedly shows a man throwing a grenade outside the BJP office shortly before the blast. The clip has added a new dimension to the probe, though its authenticity remains unverified.

Meanwhile, Kanwardeep Kaur, Chandigarh SSP said, "At around 5 PM, we got information that an explosion was heard near the BJP Office in Sector 37. Our teams reached here, and prima facie it appears that a small, crude type of bomb was thrown here. NIA, FSL, Chandigarh Police, Crime Branch and Crime Cell teams have arrived here. We are investigating..."

According to preliminary information, the explosion took place in the parking zone adjacent to the BJP office. Initial reports suggest that the intensity of the blast was low, limiting damage in the vicinity.

According to report in India TV, A team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) has reached the spot to collect samples and examine the site. The team is conducting a detailed inspection to determine the nature and origin of the blast.

Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been deployed in and around the area to maintain security. The site remains under close surveillance as investigations continue.
