The late Shri Parag Desai did not succumb to injuries from a dog attack, as confirmed by SHALBY Multi-Speciality Hospital, where he was admitted following a brain hemorrhage.
The incident
Parag Desai, the executive director of Gujarat Tea Processors and Packers, renowned for the Wagh Bakri brand, passed away on October 22. This unfortunate event occurred a week after he sustained injuries in an accident.
The incident unfolded when Desai slipped outside his residence while attempting to fend off street dogs that had approached him. The fall resulted in severe head injuries, ultimately leading to a brain hemorrhage.
Hospital issues statement
In an official statement from Shalby Hospitals, they have explicitly clarified that the primary cause of Parag Desai's demise was the brain hemorrhage and not the dog attack. This clarification was prompted by several media outlets initially attributing his death to the latter cause, which had triggered a strong reaction from animal enthusiasts who deemed the claim to be inaccurate.
