YouTuber Nalini Unagar, who has lakhs of followers across social media platforms, has spoken out about the FIR filed against her by Delhi police over a post related to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

In a video message, she said, "Kal mujhe pata chala mere upar FIR hui hai. Meri galati itni hi hai ki maine bazar mei jo milavati cheezein mil rahi hain, iske bare mei awaz uthai. Maine ek baar nahi uthai, baar baar uthai. FSSAI ke CEO se maine pucha ki aap iss bare mei chup kyu hai."

Which roughly translates to, "Yesterday I found out that an FIR has been filed against me. My only mistake is that I raised my voice about the adulterated products being sold in the market. I did not raise it just once, but repeatedly. I asked the FSSAI CEO why he remains silent on this issue."

She further said, “If roads are being built well, I have the courage to appreciate it, but if there are problems, one should also have the courage to listen to criticism.”

Earlier on Thursday, she said that she had already taken down those posts and was also removing many others.

Nalini started her YouTube cooking channel, Nalini’s Kitchen Recipe, in 2021 but shut it down in 2024, citing a lack of returns on investment.
