A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh. A video of a group brutally thrashing a policeman is viral on social media. In the video, a crowd is seen beating a policeman with sticks. According to Navbharat Times, there was a dispute between two parties over playing DJ.
To resolve this dispute, the station in-charge reached the spot with his team but the crowd assaulted them. The incident is said to of the night of June 6 and from the Barra village of Bardah police station area of Azamgarh.
Five cops, including Bardah police station in-charge Rajiv Kumar Singh were injured in this attack. The viral video shows, station in-charge is seen lying on the ground and people are thrashing him with sticks. Singh suffered serious injuries on his head and leg.
The cop can be heard saying "Mar gaya" in the video. Which roughly transaltes to "I am dead."
Police Action
Police have registered a case against 54 people in this case and arrested 17 accused. Also, 40 other people have been taken into custody.
