Kanwar Yatra 2025: Northern Railway Launches Special Trains, Extra Ticket Counters & Security Boost At Key Stations
Northern Railway has made special arrangements to facilitate passengers during the Kanwar Yatra and Sawan festivities. Additional ticket counters have been opened at significant stations, including Lucknow's Charbagh station, to manage increased crowds and ensure smooth ticket procurement.

Lucknow: Northern Railway has made special arrangements to facilitate passengers during the Kanwar Yatra and Sawan festivities. Additional ticket counters have been opened at significant stations, including Lucknow's Charbagh station, to manage increased crowds and ensure smooth ticket procurement.
According to Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer for Northern Railway, these measures anticipate a surge in passenger numbers during Sawan.
The railway has also introduced Mela Special trains, including Train No. 04318/17, an unreserved daily service between Alam Nagar and Yog Nagari Rishikesh. This train is particularly beneficial for devotees heading to Haridwar and Rishikesh for the Kanwar Yatra.

Beyond Charbagh, special arrangements with additional ticket counters and staff have been made at stations like Raiwala, Motichur, Haridwar, Yog Nagari Rishikesh, Jwalapur, Laksar, Roorkee, and Kankather. Comprehensive security and assistance measures are also in place, including the deployment of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP personnel, ticket checking staff, CCTV cameras, announcement systems, and help centers at stations.
