Kolkata: The fact-finding committee of the BJP submitted a detailed report about the Hanskhali rape incident to party president JP Nadda on Wednesday.

According to BJP Englishbazar MLA Srerupa Mitra Chowdhury, the four-member fact-finding committee has informed Nadda the necessity of imposing Article 355 and 356 in Bengal as according to them no one is safe in the state.

“In the last couple of weeks, 30 rape incidents were reported across the state. In Hanskhali, the crime was well-planned and in an organized way the evidence was removed. We still doubt whether the girl actually died due to excessive bleeding or was she burnt alive,” said Srerupa.

The BJP MLA also added that people of Bengal don't have faith in state police and also that the CBI probe might bring out the truth.

“We have heard that the TMC leader and his son had threatened the victim’s family on gunpoint. Probe should be done where the girl was called and what happened after that,” claimed the BJP MLA.

Talking to FPJ, Srerupa said that Nadda has asked to submit a detailed report on the status of women in West Bengal.

On April 15, the BJP fact-finding team had visited Hanskhali to visit the rape victim’s family.

It is pertinent to mention that Baby Rani Maurya, who was also in BJP's fact-finding team and is also the Minister for Women and Child Development in the Uttar Pradesh cabinet, did not turn up to visit Hanskhali in Nadia.
