Lucknow: A day after congress leader Rahul Gandhi had accused Mayawati of not taking Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) head on and ignoring the interest of Dalit, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo has reacted sharply.

In a counter attack on Rahul Gandhi, BSP supremo said that he should first put his own house in order and think twice before levelling any allegation on her. While talking to media in Lucknow on Sunday, Maya said the fact is that congress did not contest UP assembly polls seriously and Rahul Gandhi was seen nowhere during the campaign. It may be mentioned that while releasing a book in Delhi on Saturday, Rahul had accused that Mayawati did not contest UP polls seriously. He even said that congress, which had offered Maya to jointly contest polls and become Chief Minister, did not get any reply from her.

Lambasting at Rahul, the BSP leader said that congress has been stooping to low tactics since long. She cautioned Rahul to think several times before making any allegations on her. Congress ruled this country for decades yet it did not do anything to uplift the Dalit and deprived. She said that one late Rajiv Gandhi too had did the same and tried to defame BSP. He had even called Kanshiram a CIA agent and now his son is following the same path.

BSP supremo said that money meant for the development of Dalit was syphoned off during congress regime and its leaders did nothing.

Rahul Gandhi in his address during the book release had targeted Mayawati. He had accused that despite the offer of congress party to forge alliance and be CM candidates, Maya did not respond. Rahul had said that due to fear of ED & CBI Maya decided to stay calm and not fight against BJP. She is not fighting for the causes of Dalit and deprived who have been facing atrocities in BJP rule.
