Raipur: Chhattisgarh Congress has made a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre for sending the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) team with summons for the construction of Rajiv Bhawan in Sukma district.
State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla called the ED's summons extremely objectionable, asserting that the Congress has maintained and verified accounts for the income and expenditure carried out on the construction of district office building. He emphasized that Rajiv Bhawan was constructed with the help of party workers and public contributions during Congress's 15 years in opposition, following the party's tradition of community-supported constructions.
Shukla noted that the historic Congress Bhawan in Raipur, a symbol of India’s freedom struggle, was built with donations collected during the Chher-Chhera Punni festival and has been integral to the country's fight for independence.

Despite the scrutiny, the Congress remains committed to financial transparency, with Shukla challenging the ED to investigate the sources of BJP funding instead. He highlighted the BJP's construction of its state headquarters, Kushabhau Thakre Parisar, at a cost of Rs 150 crore and questioned the origins of this substantial amount, demanding a thorough investigation.
He concluded by accusing the BJP government of misusing central agencies like the ED against the Congress party.
