YouTuber Nalini Unagar, who has lakhs of followers across social media platforms, said on Thursday that an FIR has been filed against her by Delhi Police over a post related to Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
Taking to X, she wrote, “Delhi Police have filed an FIR against me. I had written about an FSSAI issue. I have already taken down those posts and am also removing many others.”
She added that the fresh legal challenge has worsened her already difficult situation. “I already have too many things going on in my life,” she said.
Nalini also indicated she may stop posting on sensitive issues, writing, “In the future, you may see me silent. I cannot handle this level of stress anymore.”
Expressing her frustration in another post, she wrote, “An FIR has been filed against me. So, starting today, I love fake paneer. I love urea in food. I love synthetic ghee. I love detergent in milk. I love fake spices. I love artificial colours in food. I love chalk powder in flour. I love plastic rice. I love toxic preservatives. I love everything that slowly kills me, because speaking against it is the real crime.”
She started her YouTube cooking channel, Nalini’s Kitchen Recipe, in 2021 but shut it down in 2024 citing lack of returns on investment.
However, her posts on social issues, politics, women’s empowerment, and animal cruelty continue to draw significant attention on Instagram and X.
