Patna: Chaos erupted on Friday in Bihar's Patna after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress workers clashed. The clash took place as BJP workers staged a protest against the Congress outside the office of the grand old party over alleged abusive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother during Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar's Darbhanga
Several videos of the clash surfaced online. The videos show workers of both parties attacking each other with respective flags.
Stones were also reportedly pelted at the site. Bihar Minister and BJP leader Nitin Nabin stated that the public will give a "befitting reply" to Congress.
"Every son of Bihar will give a befitting reply to Congress for insulting a mother. We will take revenge for this," Nabin told ANI.
While Congress worker Ashutosh slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming that the clash happened with the government's involvement.
"A befitting reply will be given. This is happening with the government's involvement. Nitish Kumar is doing wrong," Ashutosh said as quoted by the news agency.
Earlier in the day, Darbhanga Police arrested the man accused of hurling abuses against PM Modi.
Complaint Filed Against Rahul Gandhi:
On Thursday, the BJP lodged an police complaint against Gandhi in Patna for allegedly "using abusive comments" against PM Modi. The complaint was filed by BJP leader Krishna Singh Kallu.
A BJP delegation filed the complaint at Kotwali police station in Patna, demanding strict action.
Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav also criticised Congress and RJD. Sharing an X post, CM Yadav demanded an apology, saying that the public will not tolerate such statements.
"I strongly condemn in the harshest words the indecent language used for the late revered mother of the successful Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji in the so-called Voter Adhikar Yatra of the Congress. This abusive language cannot be the language of this country, nor can it be the language of Bihar. Neither Bihar will tolerate such statements, nor will the country tolerate them. Congress and RJD should immediately apologise," the Chief Minister wrote.
