Patna: In a remarkable resemblance to the sensational Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, a woman has been arrested for allegedly plotting and executing the murder of her husband with the help of her lover in Aurangabad district.
About The Case
Police said on Saturday that the woman, identified as Puja, allegedly conspired with her lover to murder her husband, Bikku, on the pretext of medical treatment in Gayaji. During their return journey, she, along with her alleged lover, Kamlesh Yadav, ran him over with an SUV near a deserted stretch of road, leading to his instant death.
Police said that the accused was apprehended on June 25 after the recovery of the body of her husband, Bikku, from a field at Amauna village under Bandeya police station limits in Aurangabad district. Though Puja tried to mislead the investigating officer by giving contradictory statements, she confessed to her crime after her thorough interrogation.
Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Daudnagar, Kumar Rishiraj said, “The victim’s body, which was recovered on June 21, bore external injury marks. The body was sent for postmortem examination. Preliminary investigation and statement by the deceased's family members suggested that Bikku was murdered.”
During investigation, it came to surface that Bikku’s wife hatched a conspiracy to murder her husband with the help of her lover. “The woman was arrested on June 25 and she admitted her involvement in the crime. The murder plot was hatched and executed by both the woman and her lover,” SDPO Rishiraj told the media.
Earlier, the deceased's son, mother and uncle told the investigating officer that Kamlesh Yadav, a resident of Karma Masood village under Rafiganj police station limits, forcibly barged into their house, would confine them in a room and establish physical relationship with Puja. “Kamlesh Yadav used to threaten us with dire consequences when we even protested,” they told the investigating officer.

SDPO Rishiraj said that raids were underway to nab the other accused. He, however, refused to share more details on the pretext that it would hamper investigation. He said that the case was being probed from all angles and police would take the case to a logical conclusion soon. Kamlesh is still at large.
Bikku’s hapless mother said that the accused should be hanged to death for the crime. “They should be given exemplary punishment, which will work as a deterrent,” she told the media.
