Anju Rathi Rana Scripts History, Becomes First Woman Union Law Secretary
After being appointed as Law Secretary, Anju Rathi in an X post expressed gratitude towards Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.

In an unprecedented move, the Centre has appointed Anju Rathi Rana, an Indian Legal Services officer, as the Secretary of the Department of Legal Affairs in the Central Ministry of Law and Justice.
Rana becomes the first woman to be appointed to the post.
According to a government notification dated March 5, Rana, who served as Additional Secretary until now, will serve as Secretary for a period of two years from the date she assumes charge.
"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, ILS, Additional Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, to the post of Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, initially for a period of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier," the notification read.
After being appointed as Law Secretary, Anju Rathi in an X post expressed gratitude towards Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. She said, "I'm deeply humbled to have been appointed as Secretary of the Deptt. of Legal Affairs. I'm grateful to the HMoSLJ, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, for his guidance and advice, which will be invaluable in achieving the goals set by our Hon'ble PM to bring relief and support to the people."
