Hyderabad: Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday by Hyderabad police following the tragic death of a woman during the premiere of his highly anticipated film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. A woman lost her life in a stampede caused by overwhelming crowds gathered for the event in the city where Allu Arjun was present.
Arjun was taken into custody from his residence under heavy security arrangements and escorted to the Chikkadpally police station. Police officials are yet to release a detailed statement about the charges against the actor.
Telangana CM Reacts To Allu Arjun's Arrest
Reacting to the incident, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stressed that the law would take its due course. "I will not interfere in the investigation of the case. Police action taken due to death in stampede," said the Chief Minister said in a statement.
Details On The Horrifying Incident
A 35-year-old woman tragically lost her life, and her eight-year-old son was hospitalized following a stampede during an event for actor Allu Arjun’s upcoming film at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on the night of December 4. The incident occurred when a large crowd of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the Telugu superstar.

The Hyderabad police have registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team and the theatre management at the Chikkadpally police station. The charges were filed under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s family.
According to reports, the stampede resulted from poor crowd management and a lack of safety measures at the venue, leading to chaos. While the mother succumbed to her injuries, her son is currently undergoing treatment and is said to be in stable condition.
In response to the case, Allu Arjun filed a petition with the Telangana High Court on December 11, seeking to quash the FIR registered against him.
