A 26-year-old software engineer from Bihar allegedly died by suicide in Hyderabad’s Miyapur area. Her family accused her husband of harassment over dowry and financial demands. Police registered a case, sent the body for postmortem, and detained the husband for questioning. The couple had married in February after a long relationship.

A 26-year-old software engineer from Bihar allegedly died by suicide at her apartment in Hyderabad’s Miyapur area, reportedly due to harassment over dowry demands by her husband, police said.
The woman, identified as Ishita Yadav, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the living room on Wednesday evening. Her husband, Neeraj Bhansal, informed the police after discovering her.
According to investigators, the couple met on social media in 2020 and were in a relationship for nearly five years before getting married in Patna on February 20 this year. After their wedding, they moved to Hyderabad, where both were employed in the IT sector.
Ishita’s family has alleged that marital disputes began soon after the wedding, with Neeraj allegedly demanding additional dowry and pressuring them to invest in his newly launched startup.
Based on a complaint filed by the woman’s parents, Miyapur police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The body has been sent to Gandhi Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Police have taken the husband into custody for questioning, and further inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
