World famous pop band, Cigarettes After Sex, was scheduled to perform in Bengaluru on Tuesday evening, but the show got cancelled at the very last minute due to "technical difficulties" at the venue. Fans of the band were left heartbroken and furious, and they slammed the Bengaluru administration for poor infrastructure and amenities.
It was only a couple of hours before the concert's official timing that the band announced it won't be performing in the city. "We're heartbroken to announce that due to technical difficulties which were the responsibility of local production at the venue and beyond our control, we're unable to perform and unfortunately have to cancel tonight's show in Bengaluru," a post on the official social media handle of Cigarettes After Sex read.
It further mentioned, "We're so incredibly sorry we can't see you all tonight and truly tried everything we could to make it happen. BookMyShow will reach out to you with information on refunds for the show as well. Love you so much."
Fans, who had already arrived at the venue, were shattered by the announcement, and they minced no words to criticise the city administration. "Cigarettes After Sex concert just got cancelled. Bangalore is proving to be the worst city for live gigs. From hosting the best metal and rock gigs in the 2000s to just hosting shitty Bollywood nights as an excuse for a music scene. How the mighty have fallen! (sic)," a user rued on X.
"Bangalore is the tech capital of India and we still get garbage (sic)," another user wrote, while one pointed out how despite being the 'tech capital' of India, the concert had to be cancelled due to "technical issues".
Meanwhile, the organisers have informed that all ticket holders "will receive a full refund within 8-10 working days" for the show.
