Viveck Vaswani Refuses To Work With 'Salman Khan The Star'; Patthar Ke Phool Producer Cites 'Liquor & Indiscipline' As Issues

Famous Indian actor, producer, and writer Viveck Vaswani revealed why he hasn’t worked with Salman Khan after Patthar Ke Phool. Vaswani said he was “not tempted” to collaborate with Salman till date, bluntly adding, “I cannot work where there is liquor.”

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Vaswani explained that he avoids working with people or in environments where there is alcohol or indiscipline. He said, “I cannot work jaha log daru peete hain, indiscipline ke sath kaam karte hain. Main nahi kar sakta hoon.” He further clarified that he would consider working with Salman if he encounters the disciplined version of him, as seen while working with producers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, or Sooraj Barjatya.

Vaswani added that Salman behaves with discipline and dedication with these producers because they do not make films just on his name. The Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman producer said, “Ye kuch producers hain jo Salman ke naam ke sath apni picture nahi banate hain… They don’t need Salman the star, they need Salman the actor.” Vaswani emphasized that once he experiences “Salman the actor,” he would be willing to work with him.

He insisted that interference isn’t the problem, it’s the indiscipline that he cannot tolerate. Recalling his experience on Patthar Ke Phool, Vaswani acknowledged that Salman tried to interfere in the work, but couldn’t do much as he wasn’t yet a star. Additionally, Salim Khan, his father, was the writer, limiting Salman’s influence. Vaswani noted that times were different then; even when differences arose, people would sit together and resolve them. Now, with everything being done on laptops, he believes the same magic is missing from the filmmaking process.

Patthar Ke Phool was produced by Vaswani and G P Sippy. The movie was directed by Anant Balani and it released on February 22, 1991. The movie stares Salman, Ranveen Tandon, Vinod Mehra, and Kiran Kumar in key roles.
