TN 2026 Teaser Sparks Political Row; TVK Leader Aadhav Arjuna Alleges Movie Takes Targeted Dig At Thalapathy Vijay Ahead Of Election
The teaser of TN 2026 has stirred controversy, with TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna alleging it is a deliberate attempt to tarnish Vijay’s image before the elections. Amid trolling and striking similarities to the actor-politician’s life, the film’s timing has raised questions about its potential political impact.

The teaser of TN 2026 was released on April 2, 2026. What grabbed everyone’s attention was Natarajan "Natty" Subramaniam portraying a superstar-turned-politician character. Many believe it is a direct dig at actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay.
On Friday, TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna called this a conspiracy against Vijay to damage his image. Aadhav said, “When Jana Nayagan can’t be released, how can a politically charged film like this be released ahead of the election?” As per NDTV’s report, Aadhav went on to allege that both the BJP and DMK are attempting to tarnish the actor’s image.
However, Aadhav claimed that the film will not perform well, much like Parasakthi, which was released earlier. He said, “People will not care about this film. They earlier released Parasakthi, which didn’t run even for a day. This will also face a similar fate.”
TVK fans are trolling the film due to the striking resemblance of the lead character to Vijay. Since Vijay is also an actor-turned-politician, many believe the portrayal is a direct hit at him. Moreover, certain scenes have led fans to believe that the makers are subtly mocking the TVK chief.

TN 2026 ends with Vijay’s popular political slogan, "Oru Sakthi Parasakthi." Not only this, viewers believe that Natty’s character, 'Golden Star' Gulkand Kumar, follows a storyline similar to Vijay's life. Additionally, Natty’s look in the film is said to closely resemble Vijay’s, including a white shirt, brown trousers, and a salt-and-pepper hairstyle.
With Tamil Nadu’s elections scheduled for 23 April and TN 2026 slated for a theatrical release on 10 April, many are wondering whether the film could influence the electoral climate. Aadhav also questioned why Jana Nayagan’s release was seen as a violation of the Model Code of Conduct, while TN 2026 is not.
It remains to be seen whether the film will be released as scheduled or face further hurdles.
