Divya Agarwal REACTS to being called 'gold digger' after breakup with Varun Sood: 'I am an independent girl'

Actress and Bigg Boss OTT winner Divya Agarwal has reacted to being called 'gold digger' after her breakup with actor Varun Sood. The couple ended their relationship several months ago, however, they are time and again questioned about each other.

While Divya has moved on and is now engaged to entrepreneur Apurva Padgaonkar, Varun claims to be single. During a chat session on Twitter, Varun was asked if he cheated on Divya, and he replied to the user, "I didn’t, bro." Later, Varun’s sister posted a note saying Divya had not returned their ancestral jewellery after the breakup. For those unversed, Divya was also quick to share a picture of the jewellery and some sweets and said that she was sending this to Varun's family.

Now, in an interview with ETimes, Divya said that Varun could have avoided the question on Twitter as it's been over a year since they broke up and because she is engaged now.

Reacting to trolls who called her a 'gold digger', Divya said that she is not dependent on anyone in life. The actress also stated that she has been a part of several shows on OTT platforms and won a reality show. She explained that if she really was a gold digger then she wouldn't have worked hard to make a career.

"I have won reality shows and have been a part of three web shows… I am an independent girl. Also, can’t a woman want a partner who is also settled in his career? Is that being a gold digger? If I was a gold digger, I would not have worked hard and built a career, I would have found a rich guy and settled down," she said.

Divya got engaged to boyfriend Apurva on her 30th birthday, months after break up with Varun.

Varun and Divya reportedly started dating in the year 2018 after breaking up with Priyank Sharma and Benafsha Soonawalla, respectively.

Divya and Varun continued to remain cordial even after their breakup. They were spotted together a couple of times and the actress even supported her ex-boyfriend when fans accused him of cheating on her.
