Lok Sabha member Supriya Sule on Thursday (January 16) expressed concern over the burglary attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence. A video circulating on social media shows Sule speaking to Saif's sister-in-law Karisma Kapoor over a call, inquiring about the actor condition following the incident.
Sule is a close friend of Saif's actress-wife Kareena Kapoor Khan's family.
Sule spoke to Karisma over phone in the presence of media persons at Baramati in Pune, however, she declined to share details of the conversation. Describing the incident as 'worrisome', she only informed that Saif was hospitalised and was safe.
In the now-viral video, which was first posted by ABP News on X, Sule asks Lolo (Karisma) about the attack and Saif's health update. She is also heard asking the actress to keep her posted with the latest developments and to call if needed.
The NCP leader also enquired with Karisma on how the intruder got inside Saif and Kareena's house.
Saif was attacked around 2.30 am on Thursday at his residence. His family members were present with him at the time of the attack.
The 54-year-old actor sustained multiple injuries after the intruder attacked him with a sharp object. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent several medical procedures.
Kareena's team said in an official statement, "There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request the media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the police is already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern."
Police lodged an FIR against the intruder at Bandra Police Station. According to the cops, the intruder entered Saif's house while he was asleep with his family. A scuffle ensued when Saif confronted the intruder, who then allegedly attacked him six times before fleeing the scene.
