'Satyameva Jayate': Rhea Chakraborty's Brother Showik Chakraborty REACTS After Clean Chit In Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case
Actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and their family were given a clean chit by the CBI in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, concluding no foul play. In 2020, Rhea and Showik were arrested by the NCB in a related drugs case. Showik reacted to the clean chit by sharing "Satyameva Jayate" on Instagram.

Rhea Chakraborty, along with her brother Showik Chakraborty and family members, was given a clean chit by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the death case of actor and then-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. Following Rajput's death at the age of 34 in his Mumbai apartment in 2020, the report concluded that no evidence of foul play was found. In September 2020, Rhea and Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drugs case linked to Sushant's death.
While Rhea Chakraborty is yet to respond, Showik Chakraborty has broken his silence on receiving a clean chit in Sushant Singh Rajput's case. On Saturday evening, taking to his Instagram story, he shared an old video with Rhea and captioned it "Satyameva Jayate," along with a folded hands emoji.
Rhea's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, reacted to the CBI's closure of Rajput's death case, highlighting the untold miseries she endured. He said that Rhea was jailed for 27 days despite having no fault of her own, before finally being granted bail.
"I salute her and her family for having kept silent and yet suffered the inhuman treatment they were meted. They came to me through a close friend and defense personnel who are close friends of mine, with whom I studied in a Sainik School. Both Rhea’s family, my team, and I were hounded and threatened with danger to our lives. I must say nothing deterred us from carrying out our legal duties," he added.
Satish further slammed the false narrative spread on social and electronic media, calling it completely uncalled for. He pointed out that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people were glued to television and social media in the absence of any major events in the country, which fueled misinformation.
"Innocent people were hounded and paraded before the media and investigative authorities. I hope this does not repeat in any case. I beseech the captains of media to reflect upon what they did," he added.
