'Relatives Ask To Apply Dal Paste': Rubina Dilaik Says People Compare Skin Tone Of Her 20-Month-Old Twin Daughters

Actress Rubina Dilaik, who welcomed twin daughters with husband Abhinav Shukla in November 2023, revealed how people around her often draw comparisons between the skin complexion of her baby girls. While speaking about society's obsession with skin tone, Rubina shared that fair or dusky, she finds both her daughters "beautiful".

While discussing beauty standards in her latest vlog, Rubina shared, "My one baby is little dusky, the other one is fair... and people come and compare, which is so bad. But I always tell them that my daughter is beautiful, forget fair or dusky. And I tell them, never bring this comparison in my home."

She also shared how she turns a deaf ear to the tips and home remedies shared by relatives. "Sometimes, even our family members and relatives advise that we should try applying dal paste or besan to lighten her complexion, but I tell them to not even think about it. My daughters are very beautiful."

Rubina revealed how she has been conditioning her daughters to be confident in their skin since a very young age. "They are still very young to understand but I always whisper to them, 'You're beautiful just the way you are, you are strong, you are fearless'. This is how we build the psychology. It took me 30+ years to realise it, but I want my daughters to know it right from the start," she stated.

Rubina and Abhinav tied the knot in a grand ceremony on June 21, 2018. However, their relationship hit a rough patch during the lockdown, and they even contemplated divorce, but to give a last shot to their marriage, they participated in Bigg Boss together. The show worked its magic, and post the show, the two said that they fell in love with each other all over again.

On November 27, 2023, Rubina and Abhinav welcomed their twin daughters -- Jeeva and Edhaa.
