South superstar Prabhas did not charge a single rupee for his impactful cameo in Vishnu Manchu's upcoming film, Kannappa. In the film, the Baahubali star will be seen taking on the mythological role of Rudra. Manchu also revealed that it only took a few minutes for Prabhas to accept the role of Rudra in Kannappa.

During a recent chatty session on X, a user asked Manchu, "Did Prabhas sir act for free? Is that true?" It was then that Manchu confirmed it with a "Yes". While he did not delve into further details, his affirmative response was enough to send Prabhas fans into a tizzy.
Manchu also revealed that it only took a few minutes for Prabhas to accept the role of Rudra in Kannappa. "He loved it immensely," the actor said.
Kannappa will also see Bollywood star Akshay Kumar play the role of Lord Shiva. Manchu, who is set to play the lead in the film, will be seen turning into an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva after facing the harsh realities of war.
The film will feature Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati and Mohanlal will be seen playing Kirata.

During a pre-release event in Mumbai, director Mukesh Kumar Singh had said that Kannappa is a tribute to faith, devotion, and the power of transformation. "Every frame has been meticulously crafted to bring this legendary tale to life in a way that resonates with modern audiences while staying true to its roots," he had stated.
Kannappa was also screened at Cannes Film Festival in 2024 and Manchu shared that it received an overwhelming response there, and that he was now excited for the Indian audience to witness it.
Kannappa is scheduled to hit the silver screens on April 25, 2025.
