Kiara Advani To Play Meena Kumari In Biopic? Director Siddharth P Malhotra Requests Everyone To Avoid 'Conjectures'

Actress Kiara Advani, who is currently expecting her first baby with husband Sidharth Malhotra, is rumoured to play the female lead in Meena Kumari's biopic, to be directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, marking her first project post-pregnancy. However, the filmmaker has now reacted to the speculation, urging people to avoid 'conjectures' and wait for an official announcement.

Taking to his Instagram story, Siddharth wrote on Tuesday (June 24), "Would appreciate for the media to avoid conjectures on the casting of 'Kamal aur Meena' the script has only gotten ready and as we have a cast and more...we will only be more than happy to officially announce it-until then request everyone to avoid conjectures until they hear officially from us. #kamalaurmeena."

Sources close to the project revealed, "The makers have approached Kiara Advani to portray the legendary Meena Kumari in her upcoming biopic. The film’s director and creative team reportedly believe that Kiara is the perfect choice for the iconic role, given the emotional depth and the grace that the role demands. They have already narrated the script to the actress, and while Kiara is said to have loved the narration, she is yet to give her final nod."

On the work front, the Kabir Singh actress is currently gearing up for her upcoming film War 2, starring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan in the lead.

The film will be released in theatres on August 14, 2025 and is directed by Ayan Mukerji. War 2 is the sequel to the film War (2019).

Following this, the 33-year-old actress will appear alongside Yash in Toxic.
